How to Wear Loose Clothing Without Feeling Frumpy

The key, as always, is balance—it’s all about playing with proportions.

This week on Laurel TV, I’m tackling a question I get all the time: How do you wear loose clothing without looking shapeless?

The key, as always, is balance—it’s all about playing with proportions.

I like to think about the naturally narrower parts of our body—wrists, neck, waist, and ankles. When we highlight these areas, we can wear all the loose, comfy clothes we want without feeling frumpy. In this episode, I show how something as simple as exposing an ankle with a fitted boot or rolling up a sleeve can create a more intentional look. I also share an easy way to elevate a loose outfit by adding a structured button-down for a polished but effortless feel.

What’s your go-to trick for wearing loose, comfy clothes while still feeling put together?
